About PTE

Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a popular English language test for non-native English speakers who are willing to study or to immigrate to an English-speaking country.

PTE Academic is a computer-based English language test aimed at non-native English speakers who want to study abroad. This test is conducted by Pearson Education and students can appear for PTE academic any number of times to prove their English language proficiency.

Personal Introduction	An ungraded 1-minute session for the candidate to record a video sample of his/her academic profile.
Speaking & Writing Section (54 -67 minutes)	Seven different question types to test your speaking and writing skills

PTE FAQ’s

How do I register for a PTE test?

You can register for a PTE test by creating your account on the official website of the PTE exam by logging into https://in.pearson.com and by choosing PTE Academic. The account activation happens within 48 hours. You can then browse through the list of exam centres and choose one most convenient to you. You can then select your preferred exam date and time and book your seat.

How soon shall I book my test date?

Test-takers are allowed to book their test as late as 24 hours before the test date, provided a seat is available at the preferred test centre, though we recommend students to book a date well in advance.

How do I pay my PTE test fee?

You can use using credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or JCB) or debit card (Visa or MasterCard only) to pay for your PTE test fee.

Where can I appear for the test?

You can appear for your PTE test from your preferred/most convenient test center, a list of which can be found while booking your test slot on https://in.pearson.com.

What if I am unable to appear for the test?

In case of your inability to appear for the test, you will need to fill in the ‘Request Emergency Reschedule Form’ within 14 calendar days of the scheduled test date. You will also be asked to attach evidence of the reason for rescheduling the test.

How soon can I get my PTE score?

PTE test result are available within 5 business days of your test date. You will also receive an email notification from Pearson advising you on how to view your score via your Pearson web account.

What shall I carry on the PTE test day?

Please carry an acceptable ID, preferably a passport.

How soon can I resit the test?

You are allowed to take the test an unlimited number of times but you are required to wait for at least 5 days from the recent most test date. You will be required to log into your Pearson VUE account to book another test.
